AVD installs displays at The Israel Museum

AVD has installed 100 video channels, projectors and screens in The Israel Museum, Jerusalem.

The renovated Israel museum in Jerusalem, which opened on July 25, is the culmination of almost three years of design work with the museum architects, interior designers and curators the museum.

It includes more than 100 video channels displayed on LCD screens and projectors, a few touch screens with interactive labeling system, digital signage system and ambient sound systems and more.

AVD worked with designers to feature sound systems in their celing plans. Video projectors and exhibition lighting were installed for the build.

AVD also created infrastructure drawings and 3D technical models for the galleries, supervised the infrastructure installation, issued tenders, selected and supported the integration contractor during the installation phase.

The company also helped digitise the museum's video arts which date back to the early 70s in formats including VHS, true Laserdisc and Digital Beta.

All had to be digitized in the correct aspect ratio and bit rate, so they could be played on the new digital players. AVD worked with the curators and with new content creators to verify that it will be played correctly on the digital players.
