Anna Valley Displays has again been chosen by Talkback Thames to deliver display technology for the ITV live studio series of the X Factor. All the displays are used during the Saturday night live shows for up to four hours, fed by cameras, video-servers or driven by lighting effects.
Anna Valley has incorporated six moving high-resolution LED displays in the set. These LED doors are used as devices for judges to introduce the competing new artists whom they are mentoring. The LED doors can feature ‘glamour' shots of the acts, close-up camera shots of performances or lighting effects patterns. Two large projection screens are used on the extremes of the set and several plasma displays form integral elements of the set design.
All the displays were selected for their ability to match colourimetry and have minimal, compatible video processing delay.
Anna Valley Displays has used Toshiba's 6mm curvable LED displays for the X Factor. Other shows utilising the screens include All Star Family Fortunes, Maestro, Are You Smarter Than A Ten Year Old? and Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
