After more than a decade of continuous growth, the a-v sector is now facing a technology market slowdown, recession, falling prices and new business competitors who include IT specialists and web sales companies.
AV100 2008 will provide a forum for industry leaders drawn from all a-v sectors to discuss the challenges ahead and help to build a road map leading towards a more secure and successful future.
The event will take place on Thursday 11 December, with an overnight stay at the Portland Spa Hotel in Dorset.
The full programme is as follows:
12:00 - 13:00: Delegates arrive, check in at hotel and register.
13:00 - 14:00: Lunch and AV Challenge discussions.
14:00 - 15:00: Welcome to formal proceedings with market overview and presentations on technology developments, market changes, running a business in recession, and the IT view of the current business climate.
15:30 - 17:00: AV Challenge topic reports and discussions.
17:00 - 17:45: The user viewpoint: Panel discussion with key users who give their views and answer audience questions.
17:45 - 18:00: Building the road map – discussion summary and action points.
The conference sessions will be followed by evening drinks, a gala dinner and entertainment.
Attendance at the event is by invitation only to the AV100 nominees and VIP guests of AV Magazine.
