Barco has won the contract to equip Uruguay's Carrasco International airport with a range of LED products. Barco products to be installed at Carrasco International Airport include two SLite 10XP LED displays for the airport's central hall, a 2x6m MiTRIX display in the tax free area, and a freeform, 60x1.5m MiSTRIP system outside above the entrance of the airport to welcome and inform the visitors.
Carrasco International Airport is located close to Uruguay's capital, Montevideo, and serves approx 1.5m passengers annually, with numbers still rising strongly each year. It is projected to be serving nearly 3m passengers.
The signing ceremony of the contract took place on October 9 in Montevideo, in the presence of HRH Prince Philippe of Belgium, which marks the deal's importance for economic and diplomatic relationships between Uruguay and Belgium.
Carrasco chose Barco for clear digital visualisation for its major entrance hall, tax free shop and various other areas of the airport, through local integrator Comercial South International.
