Blaydon Communications has been appointed channel partner for the Luminis 3D digital signage system, which claims to be the UK's first 'glasses free' 3D signage system.
The Luminis system, developed for CIE Group delivers 3D images to the naked eye, with no need for special glasses. The system works using lenticular screen technology, which means the device incorporates transparent, cylindrical lenses called lenticules to project light in acute angles to generate different images to each eye. This not only means standard public display screens can be used instead of the 3D compatible screens being launched this summer.
The Luminis platform supports a combination of 2D and 3D media content, incorporating Flash, Rich Site Summary, streamed images, web pages, Power point and Tickertape as well as all Windows and Mac files. The system can run an unlimited number of media or content channels with programmable scheduling.
