Hitachi Digital Media Group has appointed Inman to distribute its flatscreen product range. Inman has been in electrical wholesaling since the 1960s, and now has over 100,00 sq feet of storage space in warehouses in Sheffield & Bristol. The deal includes the right to distribute Hitachi's HD Ultra Thin LCD product range.

'Hitachi aim to give a valued return and continued support to the independent dealer network. Inman is a highly respected and prominent national distributor,' said David Oldroyd, ceo, Hitachi Digital Media Group.

'We are delighted that Hitachi asked us to handle their products,' said Stephan Hollingshead (deputy chief executive, Inman). 'Hitachi is a valuable addition to our existing brown goods brand portfolio offering further choice to the independent electrical retailer,' added Stephan.

The Hitachi UT LCD range includes the award winning 32in (UT32MH70) and the recently launched 42in (UT42MX70).

Described in the consumer magazine 'What Video' as 'the slimmest 32in LCD ever boasting stunning looks, fabulous colours and a pleasure to use' this UT LCD is also the recipient of a 'What Video Best Buy Award'. This month (July) a similar award was bestowed on the 32in by 'Home Cinema Choice'.
