Smart Technologies and Steljes have announced Shropshire Local Authority has standardised on Smart Notebook software across all its schools. The Authority manages approximately 165 primary, secondary and special needs schools plus designated Teachers Professional Development Centres.
Shropshire Local Authority is the first rural Local Authority in the UK to standardise its operating software platform.
Keith Havercroft, school improvement adviser - Music and eLearning, from Shropshire Local Authority comments, 'In partnership with schools, we have decided to standardise our operating software platform across the whole authority and have chosen Smart Technologies' Notebook software because it will provide a collaborative learning environment to help young people achieve their potential and allow a focus on the whiteboard as a live teaching tool rather than simply a surface for projection and presentation.'
Under the terms of the agreement, Notebook software will be provided to all Shropshire schools regardless of the brand of interactive whiteboard currently in use.
