Sony has showcased a prototype 3D technology at Tokyo's Digital Content Expo which the company said could have digital signage potential in the future.
The 13x27cm device features a stereoscopic, 24-bit colour image measuring 96x128 pixels. The image is viewable from any angle without the need for special glasses.
The device was a highlight at the event, which ran from 22-25 October, and even featured on the blog of rapper Kanye West.
Sony has no immediate plans to produce the gadget, but thinks the product could be suitable for commercial use in applications including medical imaging, photo framing or digital signage.
