Panasonic's 103in plasma formed the centrepiece of a large installation in its campaign for a new Lumix camera. The giant screen doubled as the view finder in a 3.6x2m model Lumix camera that was installed in London Waterloo last week.
The 3.6x2m fibre glass camera weighs 160kg and was built by a team of six artists over a five week period. The installation was put up in the middle of Waterloo station at 4am on the morning of November 19th, to greet London rush hour commuters.
The 8xLife campaign has seen giant sculptures appear in high profile locations in cities across the country including a postbox, traffic cone, park bench, crumpled coffee cup and pigeon. The oversized Lumix spent three days at Waterloo and before embarking on a mini tour of London train stations; it also will feature at London Victoria between November 26-28 and London Liverpool Street between 3-5 December.
