HP signs global deal with Polycom

HP will now sell Polycom's complete product portfolio, contrary to press reports HP will also continue to provide integration, support and managed services for Tandberg as well.
The deal also includes joint go-to-market activity and future joint technology development for the two American companies. HP joins a group of seven of Polycom's strategic partners, which include Microsoft, Juniper, Avaya, Broadsoft, IBM and Siemens.
The companies will also deliver interoperability between Polycom's line of standards-based telepresence and video conferencing systems and HP Halo telepresence.
According to industry analyst firm Gartner, total demand for visual communication solutions and services is projected to reach $8.6 billion, with a compound annual growth rate of 17.8 per cent between 2008 and 2013.1
